Transportation of donor organs is an important factor - they need to be stored in special conditions, usually in a cold solution, to preserve their function and minimise the risk of damage. The medical device VITALPACK® Evo is wheeled transport container designed for efficient and rational transport of transplants (kidney/heart/pancreas or liver/lung). It is an ergonomic textile transport bag with a sealable closure, internal and external transparent document pockets, protective flaps and shoulder strap, and 4 wheels for easy transport. The instrument has two independent compartments (isothermal and non-isothermal). The large (isothermal) compartment has an isothermal barrier made of graphite-enhanced PSE, with four dedicated spaces for eutectic plates (cold accumulators). A small compartment is for accessories, also there is intended location for traceability and decontamination forms as well. 4 eutectic plates (dry conditions) are used to maintain the temperature during transportation.
The medical device VITALPACK® Evo is the main container and is used with compatible accessories as required:
- The medical device Biotainer 2.8L is sterile single-use container intended for the transport of a donor kidney, heart or pancreas together with a suitable preservation and transport fluid. This container comes complete with sterile bags (two) and a screw cap.
- The cushioning system is designed for the Biotainer 2.8L container.
- Four eutectic plates for temperature maintenance.
- The Biotainer 1.8L 4GU is a container for transporting spleen and lymph node samples.
- The Biotainer 0.25L is a container for transporting donor blood samples.
