System for inhaled nitrogen monoxide therapy
Automatic iNO delivering and monitoring system delivers and monitors concentration of nitric oxide for use in inhaled nitric oxide therapy both in continuous and synchronous nitric oxide delivery modes.
Such systems are easy to use because of most of it has a step-by-step, guided user’s interface. These systems are designed for use in hospitals but their monitor can be detached from its stand to provide continuous treatment during the transit and transfer.
Some systems have integrated NO mixer, which is intended to deliver a continuous flow of nitric oxide mixed with oxygen for emergency applications.
The patients receiving inhaled nitric oxide therapy must be carefully monitored, while the process itself must be precisely managed in order to avoid complications because of toxic nitric dioxide concentration and worsening of pulmonary hypertension if nitric oxide inhalations are discontinued too quickly.
