SCS for chronic pain
Stimulator (neurostimulator): a small device that generates electrical impulses. It is usually implanted under the skin, usually in the abdomen or buttocks.
Leads with electrodes : Thin wires that are connected to the stimulator and inserted into the epidural space of the spinal cord. They transmit electrical impulses directly to the spinal cord. Extension leads are also used in some cases for the connection between the stimulator and the leads with electrodes.
Programmer: An external device used to program the stimulator and adjust the parameters of the pulses according to the patient's individual needs. It is also a controller given to the patient that can be used by the patient himself to adjust the intensity of the stimulation.
